The questions & answers below will explain all from your hand over, to sampling, to production & dispatch.

Handover

How to hand over my collection to be priced?

We require your shapes, either from our Ready to Go 2019 collection or from you, as well as your choice of fabric.

What format do I send you my shapes in?

You can do one of two things. One, fill in the form here which we will go over to ensure that all the data we require is complete, or you can Two, send us the actual samples for us to copy or alter.

We have several hundred up-to-date shapes on our Auto CAD 2D system, so chances are we have a shape that’s close to your style you’re looking for that we can edit & save to your collection.

How long to receive my prices?

Normally within 2-3 working days.

Do I need to decide the colours now?

Not until you have received your prices. You have to inform us for every style, whether it is 2 sides plain or 2 sides print or should you be looking for reversible swimwear.

Note: White & some pastel colours can be see-through. In such cases it’s advisable to add an extra layer of lining to the middle avoid see-thru effect.

What about any accessories I require to be made like metal clips & branded packaging?

We will require the artwork before you have received your prices & layout, like your desired wording etc.

Can I choose both sides of the swimwear to be textured or made using Velvet and so on?

No, its not advisable, we suggest to use one side Rib or Velvet & the other side either Vita or REPREVE

Do you require my art work for any prints, labels, or packaging now?

No, but we will once we move to sampling & require the art work to be in .EPS, .TIFF, or .AI.

Mostly any order these days require some sort of graphic work, assistance in print layout or any one of many small jobs that require graphic print or layout work. This is what we handle.

Be sure to send over your art work soonest possible once you have decided to work with us, nothing worse than delaying orders due to late print hand over, or any such thing to do with branding. Artwork such as your brand logo or any prints you can send to us & we will check that you’re working with a high-resolution image (300 DPI) & using .AI or .EPS format.

Sampling

What’s the first step to making samples?

We will need to know the specific plain colour that you have chosen and any print that you require. Any artwork for any type of accessories ex: heat press, metal clips, packaging, needs to be handed at this point.

Note: Should you require our assistance, we have an in-house graphics team to help.

How to organise the sample meters plains & prints?

Firstly, you need to choose your plain colours, mention by their names, colours & codes. Example Carvico Vita, Nero 9240. We will then calculate the meters required & inform you.  Once paid we then place the order with Italy and import via DHL.

We charge on average $20-30 USD per meter depending plain or print purchasing & handling fee from Italy + courier costs. Your sample swimwear costs will therefore be priced CMT (Cut make & trim)

For any print, we require your art work to be sent over in high resolution, 300 dpi, Ai or .TIFF format, repeatable & to scale, or actual size. NOTE. Most graphic artists can assist you with this for a small fee & should you require, we can assist.

How long does it take to make my samples?

It takes on average 4-6 weeks to make the first round of samples from the fabric received, depending on the complexity & time of the year, how busy we are, holidays and the like. Whilst the plain fabric is being organised from Italy & the printed from China, we will be making all your patterns & grading using our 2D CAD system.

How do I hand over the accessories I require for my collection?

You need to choose from the Accessories page to choose your styles or shapes, the size & colour etc. You can then take screen-shots & add to our Accessories Hand Over template & send back to us. If the styles you request are styles that we don’t normally manufacture from our selected vendors, then it could be that we can’t assist & you will have to send to us via courier. In such cases you may have to use websites like www.aliexpress.com.

What’s the Average Cost?

We charge 2 X your estimated price plus $30 USD sample fee whether you choose from our shapes or yours. Cost to sample 10 Swim styles, approximately $550-$750 USD (does not include additional charges for DHL, print sample meters etc.)

On average a double-sided plain Bikini Top in Plain Eco Recycled Italian Vita $14.50 USD, a Bikini bottom, $13 USD, & one-piece swimmer, $22 USD. For any style printed digitally adds $1.50 to $3 USD for bikinis & $4 USD for one-piece swimmers

NOTE: Some of our regular clients make two sets of approved samples, one that they hold & one to be kept with us. This is completely your choice. If you choose just one set then these must be sent back to us before we cut your bulk wholesale orders.

When do I pay for this?

Payment is 100% before we start your sample requests including the costs to import your sample meters.

Can We Visit Your Factory?

Yes, for sure, we encourage it. Let us know the best date & time and we will book you in. We will show you all the departments for example, sampling, production, quality control, packaging, dispatch & so on & meet the team, that’s the biggest bonus. Mornings are best for us by far, Monday to Friday.

May I Request a Skype Or Phone Call?

Yes, we encourage this, after costing approved. You may have an online meeting, but at this point it’s mostly about sampling. For production and shipping and other issues please read our Production section in the bottom.

What does Reversible Swimwear mean?

The term “Reversible” refers to swimwear that is made to be worn both sides.

The term “Double layered” is not reversible but is to be worn one side outer only. This is due to certain parts of the structure of the swimwear, showing through on one side, such as clips, straps or seams.

For customers using imported fabrics that are imported into Indonesia in 70-meter lots (role based) under our tax & duty exemption, could mean that some styles will not result in the equal amount of fabric colour being used. As a rule of thumb, if you’re using, for example, red on one side of a garment and black on the other, then any reversible or double layered styles using either red or black, must always be red & black.

You may discuss & take advice from your merchant on what is possible with the above.

WHAT IS NOT POSSIBLE

Using textured fabrics on one side & plain Vita for example on the other, will not work when using imported fabrics due to inner side using less fabric than the outer. You may use a local plain fabric one side to match the textured or Rib fabric. Please refer to your agent in all cases before deciding to make reversible or double layered swimwear

Bulk Wholesale Orders

What’s the MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)?

Any P.O. (Purchase Order) is 1,000 PCs, 100 PCs each style, up to three colour ways & 10 PCs any size, colour & code. A typical order would be 3 bottoms, 5 tops & 2 one-piece swimmers. Yours may be completely different to this, also to note. For top up orders we accept 500 PCs in total, 100 per style. You need to take note that each roll plain or print is 70 meters. Normally 4 colours mean 4 rolls = 70m x 4 rolls =280 meters = 1,000 pcs (approx.)

How Do I Place an Order?

We will send you an editable spreadsheet, formatted with your codes & style names meaning all you will have to do is to add your sizes & quantities. This form will then auto calculate the amounts of fabrics required for your order. Should the amounts not be close to the 70 meter lots we have to order, then we will contact you to adjust.

What Do You Require to Start my Bulk wholesale order?

Firstly, that all art work has been finalised for accessories & any prints. Then we require your approved samples to be sent back to us with a deposit of 50% of the total order value.

The balance 50% will be payable when the goods are ready for dispatch. All goods sold ex-factory.

How Long Will My Production Take?

As we import mostly all plain fabrics from Italy, & handle prints from overseas, as well as importing all the accessories you require like branded metal tags, Bio-degradable zip lock bags for packaging, jacquard & more besides, all from top vendors globally, allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks to land into Bali. Then around 6 to 8 weeks for manufacturing depending on complexity.

Do You Organize the Branded Hang Tags from Carvico, Econyl & Repreve?

Yes, we do this free of charge, you will receive branded tags when you manufacture your collection with fabric using Carvico or REPREVE®, attached to each piece. The ECONYL® tags if required, you must contact them to arrange an order. Their email is beatrice.padovani@aquafil.com.

Why Is It That Only You Can Import Fabric Freely Without Tax and Duty?

Simply put, we are an approved Government Trading Company following all the manpower regulation & support our staff well over the required minimums. No other garment company in Bali has such a license & will be paying 50% extra on their fabric landed costs.

Do Customers Need to Come for Final Checking Before the Goods Are Dispatched?

It’s up to you. We sell goods ex-factory, meaning once the goods have left our premises, we don’t accept returns or credits. You can either come to Bali to handle this yourself or hire someone to do it for you. Please note that the final checking of the goods must be done outside of our building as we simply do not have room.

NOTE: Everything we make goes through several layers of QC before being packed. Some brands like to check & others trust us and don’t bother. On average less than 1% are deemed rejects. Independent QC can be found in Bali, costs around $300 USD per 1,000 pcs swim.
